Who is CMT?

Chesapeake Music Therapy is a private Music Therapy practice located in Salisbury, MD. It was founded by Niki Runge, MCAT, LPMT, MT-BC in 2009 as a solo practice serving children and youth with severe mental illness and Autistic individuals. Niki noticed that self-regulation, feelings identification/expression, coping skill development and impulse control were high needs for the individuals and groups engaged in Music Therapy.  In response, the practice expanded to include working with the Wicomico and Somerset County Public Schools to develop the Rockin’ 4 School Program, which focuses on developing social/emotional and self-regulation skills within early childhood education and childcare settings, when these skills are developing.

CMT continues to grow by adding additional Board Certified and Licensed Professional Music Therapists as well as a place of study for Music Therapy Interns and Practicum students.

Today, Chesapeake Music Therapy serves individuals, groups, agencies, group homes, residential facilities, assisted living facilities, and school districts across Wicomico, Somerset, Worcester and Dorchester Counties on the Delmarva Peninsula. We strive to provide relationship-based and goal-directed Music Therapy services across the life span to individuals with diverse backgrounds and needs.
